The first research sessions of College of Chemical Sciences were held on 16th February 2008 at Adamantane House. Prof. G. M. K.B. Gunaherath, Professor in Chemistry at the Open University of Sri Lanka delivered the keynote address. Mr. Stanley Langer, Manager, International Affairs of the Royal Society of Chemistry, U.K. was the guest of honour.
Graduate Chemists of the Silver Jubilee batch, the first to carry research projects at Adamantane House made their presentations at this session. Several Graduate students who completed their Part IIC course also made their presentations at this session.
Currently over 40 students have been registered to carry out research projects in various disciplines, in affiliation with various other universities and research institutes of Sri Lanka.
