Institute of Chemistry Ceylon

The Clodagh Nethsingha Library is situated at Adamantane House, Institute of Chemistry Ceylon Head Quarters, Level one, 341/22, Kotte Road, Welikada, Rajagiriya. This is a special library where prominence is on chemical literature, and caters particularly to those following courses conducted by the College and the Institute.

Our vision is to give support and assist those who are questing for knowledge on chemistry and the course related subjects. To meet this challenging vision the college and the Institute are committed to improve the library collection and the quality of its service by revision of practices. The Library of the Institute of Chemistry was first set up in the premises of the Ceylon Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research at 363, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo in 1981. At the initial stages the library had a stock of books gifted by the ODA, UK. In May 1993 the library was shifted to 38, Sumanarama Road, Mount Lavinia, and in May 1997 to No. 39, along the same road. It moved to present location having an area of about 800 square feet on February 25, 2005 and was formally opened as Clodagh Nethsingha Library in honor of the valuable services rendered by her to the Institute and to the library in particular.

The main utilities of library are lending, reference and photocopy services. Lending and Reference facilities are available for the students who are following the courses and members of the Institute. The photocopy service is available for reference books and periodicals. Numbers of pages must be less than fifty. Past question papers are also available for photocopying.
