I am deeply honored to have been elected as the President for the year 2009/2010 and take this opportunity to thank the members for the confidence and trust placed in me. My position as President of the Institute along with Head/Faculty and Visiting Professor of Inorganic Chemistry of the College of Chemical Sciences (educational arm of the Institute) becomes highly coincident with my 25 years of close association with the main educational program namely Graduateship Course in Chemistry and other major activities of the Institute. As mentioned in my induction speech, my Presidential year has been dedicated to all passed out Graduate Chemists with 572 to date. To feel the climax of this sincere thought, I wish to record my desire to hold a symposium during the Annual Sessions with as many as possible Graduate Chemists here and abroad participating to share their career and research experiences. I have no doubt that the council and the general membership especially the Graduate Chemists will extend an unstinted support to realize this dream. |
